The new rate for OFW is P1,200 pesos per year that took effect in 2012 and will be implemented up to 2013. After that Philhealth is planning to set the rate to P2,400 pesos in 2014. In 2011 Philhealth has decided to increase the rate to 2,400 pesos. But after consulting different sectors which opposed such a high increase, Philhealth agreed to gradually increase the monthly contributions instead from 900 pesos to P1,200 pesos, rather than P2,400 Pesos.
FW-members may opt to agree to a two-year lock-in period for which their
annual premium will be computed at P1,200.00, or a total of P2,400.00. "They have to sign a policy contract with us to be able to avail of this special rate," he said, adding that once the policy contract expires, the prevailing rate per year will then be applied.
